They say true friendship picks up exactly where it left off, and after eight years apart, our August trip to Quebec proved exactly that. Reconnecting with my high school friend Alex and his family was a long-overdue highlight. So much has changed since they last visited me in Ohio - namely, navigating parenthood. Watching our son celebrate a joint birthday alongside their eldest was a beautiful reminder that while time passes quickly, the best connections only grow richer.
